Canadian Dental Care Plan: We welcome eligible patients
At Dentown Dental Clinic, we believe that everyone deserves equal access to quality dental care. Oral health plays a fundamental role in overall health, self-esteem, and quality of life. Yet too many people in Canada still have to postpone appointments or forego essential treatment because they can't afford it.
That's why we're proud to announce that we accept patients eligible for the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP). This government program was created to address a very real issue: to enable people without dental insurance to receive the care they need, without cost being a barrier.
Who is eligible for the program?
As of June 2025, all Canadians who meet the eligibility criteria can apply, regardless of age. This change marks an important step toward greater access to care.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a resident of Canada for tax purposes;
- Have filed a tax return for the previous year;
- Not be covered by private dental insurance, an employer or retirement plan;
- Have an adjusted net family income of less than $90,000.
Depending on your income, the program may cover 40% to 100% of the cost of eligible dental care. You will find a detailed list of covered treatments, based on income brackets, on the Service Canada website.
A simple process to renew each year
Applications for the CDSP are made through Service Canada, online or by phone. You will need to provide some personal information, including your Social Insurance Number (SIN), and answer questions to confirm your eligibility.
